With a little imagination you can whip up amazing vegan pizzas at home. To prove that vegan pizza options are wide-ranging and so, so rad, I have whipped up a list of topping options for ten different vegan pizzas to get you started. You’ll find the list below the dough recipe.
This pizza base is a perfect fix for lazy or busy nights. It is quick, tasty and there is no kneading required. Combine your ingredients, mix, roll, throw it in the oven quickly, add your toppings, pop it back in the oven for 10-15 more minutes and viola! I like to divide the dough into four and make mini pizzas with different topping combinations on each one.
Need For Speed Pizza Dough
1 tbsp active yeast
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1/2 tsp sea salt
2 tbsp olive oil
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
What to do:
Preheat oven to 220 C.
Add yeast to water to a small bowl and set aside for 1 minute, then whisk until the yeast is dissolved. Add salt and olive oil. Mix gently.
Sift in the flour gradually, mixing as you go, until the dough is just holding together. Add more flour if it is too sticky, a little at a time.
Roll the dough into a ball with damp hands. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into the shape you want, then carefully place it on a baking tray lined with lightly greased foil.
Bake 5 minutes. Remove from oven, spread on a thin, even layer of homemade pizza sauce, followed by your toppings of choice (see below for ten ideas to get you started).
Season with sea salt and fresh black pepper, then bake for another 10 – 15 minutes, until crust is lightly browned.
Serve with roasted vegetable chunks and a fresh green salad.

A few tips: To make the pizza come out of the oven as deliciously as possible you want to add the ingredients in the order listed. For the options that call involve hummus or babaganoush, carefully spread a thin layer over top of the pizza sauce layer with the back of a large spoon. When it comes to quantity, generally less is more; you want a little of each ingredient to keep the flavours balanced.
